StatVeda vs JASP
StatVeda and JASP are both free statistics tools but they aim at different users. JASP is a desktop package built on R with a strong Bayesian module. StatVeda is a browser tool with a strong agricultural-design coverage. This page compares them without declaring a winner.
StatVeda and JASP compared with StatVeda
- Both are free. JASP is released under the AGPL; StatVeda is closed source for the moment with engines documented in src/lib/stats/.
- JASP's strength is the side-by-side Bayesian and frequentist output for tests, ANOVA, regression and contingency tables. StatVeda does not (yet) provide Bayesian inference.
- StatVeda's strength is the classical agricultural-design family (split-plot, split-split-plot, strip-plot, alpha and balanced lattice, augmented CRD and RBD, diallel, generation means, line by tester, path coefficient) which JASP does not cover natively.
- JASP runs locally; data does not leave the machine. StatVeda runs entirely in the browser; computation is client-side, data does not leave the device either, but the page itself is served from Cloudflare Pages.
- Pick JASP for Bayesian work and SPSS-style desktop editing. Pick StatVeda for classical agricultural designs, a browser path, and one-click Word, PPT, citation export.
